ATLANTA, GA (Tuesday, August 16, 2022) – SKI Autosports and Andy Pilgrim have their sights set on more success when they compete this weekend in their second  SRO GT America Present by AWS event this weekend at beautiful Road America.

Participating in a limited schedule for this first season in the SRO series, SKI Autosports debuted at VIRginia International Raceway in June with their Ferrari 458 GT.

Successful on debut, the English-born American racer Pilgrim excelled to finish second in the Sunday event and claimed the first place trophy in the Master’s class.

“Our inaugural SRO race at VIR was a great experience for the team. We couldn’t be happier after taking the Master’s Class win and second overall,” said team owner Kent Hussey.

“We knew we would be at a bit of a disadvantage running the older Ferrari 458GT, but our ace is having the experience and unmatched driving talent of Andy Pilgrim behind the wheel.

“VIR is so different from Road America. We will soon find out how the car performs on the long straights, uphill climbs, tight turns, and 4.048-mile course that makes up Road America. “

The weekend will kick off with a downtown parade in Elkhart Lake on Thursday, August 18.  The cars will leave Road America at 5 pm on Thursday afternoon and proceed to Siebkens Resort, 284 S. Lake St. in Elkhart Lake, where there will be live music, outdoor bars, and autograph sessions with drivers.

“At VIR I had solid second and fourth place finishes in the SKI Ferrari, including a couple of good battles with my old friend Jason Daskalos in his Audi GT3,” Pilgrim said.

“I’m not sure how we’ll do this weekend at Elkhart, as there are some really important downforce areas of the track along with some good top speed sections; it should balance out for some excellent racing.

“I’ve been coming to Road America since the late 1980s; it’s definitely my favorite race track in the US. A win here I’ll never forget was in the incredibly competitive Corvette Challenge Series all the way back in 1988!”
