ATLANTA, GA (Tuesday, October 4, 2022) – SKI Autosports will return to SRO America competition this week at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway – competing in their red Ferrari 458 GT driven by veteran sportscar racer Andy Pilgrim.

The team entered the season with a limited schedule and will conclude their three-race 2022 SRO run at Indy.

This will be the third year that SRO America has raced on the infield road course at the Racing Capital of the World.  SKI Autosports team owners Kent and Melissa Hussey, recall their trips to Indy began over 20 years ago, “My first time at the speedway was the inaugural Formula 1 race in 2000’” said Kent Hussey.

But Hussey would not be happy as a spectator, and as has been the case in his long motorsports career, Kent jumped in as a participant, “My first involvement with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway was my sponsorship of an Indycar team in 2002 with Alex Barron and Blair Racing, who finished an impressive sixth.”

Over the past few years, the Husseys have had several starts at the speedway as car owners, where they have enjoyed several wins and podium finishes in a variety of sportscars.

In 2019, the Husseys would team with Andy Pilgrim for the first time to race at the speedway.  Even with Pilgrim’s long pedigree in racing, this week will only be his second race at IMS. The SKI Autosports team hopes for the type of success they enjoyed in 2019, “We returned to  the Brickyard (in 2019) with another Ferrari 458 GT3 driven by Andy Pilgrim, where we swept both of the Sprint races and finished second in the enduro to an Audi R8 LMP car.”

Pilgrim and the SKI Autosports team have seen great success in their past two SRO starts.  They have won the Master’s Class at both VIR and Road America and took an overall win in the SRO America category at Road America.

When asked about the return to Indy, Kent Hussey said, “Andy is very familiar with the track, having won here before with one of our Ferraris, and the Ferrari has wonderful braking and handling. This should make us competitive against the higher horsepower cars.”

Andy Pilgrim:
“I am very much looking forward to heading to Indy this week. This will only be the second time I’ve ever raced at Indy. I previously drove the track in one of the SKI Autosport Ferrari GT3’s and a Historic 1970’s Formula Ford on the same weekend – talk about a quick change of pace! I had a complete blast in both cars, ending up with a couple of wins. It’s impossible not to appreciate the history of Indy, and I can’t wait to get back on that storied track!!”
