ATLANTA, GA (Thursday, May 18, 2023) – SKI Autosport could not have asked for more at their 2023 debut with SRO GT America, winning both races in the Master’s Cup category when SRO GT America was at NOLA a few weeks ago.

In their second 2023 round with the series, the team (and driver) returns to the location of much success in the past at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX.

Racing this same Ferrari 458 GT3 with International GT in November of 2021, the team swept the weekend, taking the overall win in both sprint races and the enduro in the COTA race.

“The team has had success here, but Johnny has also been a big winner here in the past with Cadillac,” said team owner Kent Hussey

“This is a circuit that has been good to us, and we are sure that success will continue.  The competition is tough, but with the

Circuit of the Americas opened in late 2010.  Considered the premiere Formula 1 circuit in the US, COTA  has hosted many sports car races in the past 13 years and has been home for SRO America for over 10 years.

JOHNNY O’CONNELL

“We’re excited to be heading to COTA, and everyone at SKI Autosport has been putting in long hours to get our Ferarri ready.

“COTA is a great track; we won with the Cadillacs several years in a row, so always great to go to a track we’ve won at before.

“SRO GT America has some stiff competition.

“These guys might be bronze, but when you have guys like Memo Gidley, George Kurtz, Daskalos, Sofronas, these guys who are running 2023 Mercedes, Porsches, Audis, it’s going to be tough.

“NOLA was really nice for us; we have an amazing little team, great people, and an amazing engineer in Rossella.

“I’m looking forward to the event.  Obviously, BOP will make a difference, but we will keep digging and get another great result.”
